Journalist • Consultant • Speaker
Hi, I’m Jacky.
I’m a Canadian journalist based between Toronto and Nairobi. My work focuses on humanitarian issues, social justice, and women’s rights.
I’ve reported from a dozen countries on issues including the famine in Ethiopia, refugee policy in Uganda, and the state of emergency with regard to sexual violence in Sierra Leone. Previously, I’ve worked as a TV reporter in Kenya and a human rights media trainer in Ghana.
I also support nonprofits with multimedia storytelling and advocacy campaigns.
In addition, I’m a social entrepreneur. As the founder of New Lens Travel, I host trips to Africa that highlight the local storytellers rewriting narratives about the continent.
I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out.
